Mental Health in Angola

We focus on providing shelter housing and day care for the mentally ill.

We run a five drop in Day Centres, and provide supported living allowing twelve adults with severe disability to lead independent lives. These people would otherwise be alone and destitute on the streets of Angola .

We also run five arts and crafts work shops and regional advocacy and support services.

Our "Cooking Time Project" at the Day Centre we provide a hot meal twice a week for 45 of the centre's users with mental health problems or mental disabilty.

The beneficiaries are closely involved in the preparation and cooking and so learn new skills and to work together in a team as well as benefiting from a nutritious and sociable occasion."
